Health, Fitness & Beauty in and around Paddington
St. Mary's NHS Trust on Praed Street is one of Paddington's most prominent landmarks. It was in a laboratory at this hospital that Sir Alexander Fleming revolutionised modern medicine with the discovery of penicillin in 1928. It will come as no surprise then to find an abundance of chemists and medical supply stores in the immediate vicinity of Paddington Station as well as hairdressers, dentists and fitness centres. If you prefer the great outdoors for your work out head to Hyde Park, one of London's largest open spaces. It's just a short walk from Paddington and whether you're into jogging, roller-blading or horse riding, you'll find the space and the scenery here to enjoy your sport to the fullest.
